acoustic guitar 2xmic placement

I’ve never got a good sound from recording acoustic guitar so far, or any instrument in fact, so this is as good a place to start as any. sound card

My pro sound card just arrived and it doesn’t work with ALSA so I’ve got to send it back. Don’t believe the lies perpetuated about snd_ice1724 cards, any report of the cards working properly (outputs and inputs) are officially lies. That’s the second pro card I’ve tried with Linux/ALSA and I’m losing faith/pissed off. There’s no going back now though, I’m too far down the free software yellow brick road and considering this blogging software, whose theme I just repaired, is GPL’d I think I’ll just shut my ranting trap now and go record something onboard.

cultivate my skills

Not much achieved today, though I’m glad that in a few days my exams will be over and I’ll be able to focus on my music. I’ve chosen a simple song to record and produce just for learning purposes (so that when I start on album material I’ll at least have the basics covered).
