Voltaire
This is a simple song that I wrote early on about the usual old problems I had of feeling empty and hopeless. As I don’t really care what happens to it, I thought I could use it as my first test bed for learning how to record and produce a ‘pop’ song.
Lyrics:
All this time,
I have waited,
For an answer,
Less jaded.
Maybe it’s ’cause I can’t make sense of this,
I’m trapped in my solumness.
I will wait,
For the length of time.
I wish you could,
See the side,
I hide behind,
My foolish pride.
What if every man,
Was guilty of,
Of all good he didn’t do.
What would that make me my friend?
Oh, what would that make you?
What have I,
Succumb to,
This hedonism,
I indulge with you.
Maybe it’s cause,
I didn’t ask for this
I don’t have a will to live.
Can’t climb a mountain,
With no summit.
I wish you could,
See the side,
That wastes away,
From constant decline.
I wish you could,
See the real me.
What if every man,
Was guilty of,
All the good he didn’t do.
Oh, what would that make me my friend,
Oh, what would that make you?
I wish you could see the real me.
Musical Ideas:
For this first song I tried to work out the best microphone placement for acoustic guitar.
